STAND BY ME Doraemon 2 is a sequel of Nobita and Shizuka's love story from the first CG film but the film overall is heavily based on Doraemon's 2000 film "A Grandmother's Recollections". Satoshi Tsumabuki from the first Doraemon CG film returns to reprise his role as the adult Nobita while award-winning and veteran Japanese actress Nobuko Miyamoto will voice as Nobita's grandmother. Additional casts features comedian/screenwriter Hidetomo "Bakarhythm" Masuno will be playing Naka Meguro and Japanese free announcer, tarento, and television presenter Shinichi Hatori as Replacement Rope. The Doraemon main cast includes Wasabi Mizuta as Doraemon, Megumi Ōhara as Nobita Nobi, Yumi Kakazu as Shizuka Minamoto, Tomokazu Seki as Suneo Honekawa, Subaru Kimura as Takeshi 'Giant' Goda
STAND BY ME Doraemon 2 release date has been moved from its original August 7 theatrical release date to November 20, 2020 due to COVID-19 pandemic. Film directors and screenwriter Ryūichi Yagi and Takashi Yamazaki from the first CG movie returns for the second film.
