Good news to all PUBG Mobile players in India. PUBG Corporation has announced that it will handle the distribution of the mobile version of PUBG in the country after the game and other Chinese apps and games were banned early this year. PUBG Mobile was originally published by Chinese Game giant Tencent Games and it was affected after The Ministry of Electronics & IT of India prohibited the use of Chinese apps and games due to privacy and user data concerns. Other popular games such as Moonton's Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and Tencent's Arena of Valor and popular Social media app like TikTok were also affected by the ban.

The game will be renamed as PUBG Mobile India and the new version will be customized to fit the local preferences in the country. There have been no release date of the game but it will likely release as soon as possible because of its popularity among Indian gamers. Tencent Games and VNG Game Publishing will still published PUBG Mobile in other regions.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) is a popular battle royale game released by PUBG Corporation in 2017 as a PC game and expands to other platforms afterward. Battle royale is a new genre of game that was inspired from the 2000 Japanese movie Battle Royale by Kinji Fukasaku.
